We invited 15 artists who have been instrumental in shaping the past, present, and future of JOY! collective to create work responding to the theme of play.

Our ability and inclination to 'play' is often suppressed during our transition to the expectations of adulthood.
Too often, our creative confidence is crushed as we're encouraged to dedicate ourselves to more 'serious' practices.
We believe that play can unlock the creativity that we all intrinsically possess but are conditioned to abandon.
Creativity shouldn't be outgrown. Play isn't just for children. Play is a serious business.
